Operation Red Nose

Operation Red Nose Volunteer form & criminal record check

It’s definitely starting to feel a little more like winter out there and the holiday season isn’t too far away. Which means Operation Red Nose is starting very soon – the first weekend of PMHA shifts is December 1st & 2nd
Please complete the Volunteer Application Form and Criminal Record Check available at the link below and take your driver’s license and completed form to the local RCMP detachment (340 Lorne Avenue East, Portage la Prairie) along with TWO pieces of ID. This needs to happen a minimum of 7 day prior to your planned volunteer shift.

Participation is a Requirement
Operation Red Nose is the major fundraiser that the Portage Minor Hockey Association participates in to help keep fees affordable. A reminder that participation in Operation Red Nose of one shift (or a $200 missed-shift fee) per child registered in minor hockey is a mandatory requirement of PMHA.

If you fail to show up for your ORN volunteers shift(s) without making other arrangements or paying the $200 fine your PMHA athlete will not be allowed to participate in any PMHA games or practices after Jan 1, 2024 until the fine has been settled.

Red Nose contributes a significant amount of money through donations and MPI contributions to PMHA.

We know it's not everyone's favorite responsibility, but your commitment to working one red nose shift per child goes a long way to keep fees down and hockey affordable for everyone. Plus, it helps to keep our streets safe and makes party goer’s holiday celebrations enjoyable knowing they’ll have safe rides home.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (for escort drivers and drivers)
  • Proof of insurance (for escort drivers)
  • Dress warmly as you will be entering and exiting cold vehicles during your shift
